Tim and Julia Shaunessy hired Hummingbird Homes to remodel the outdated kitchen of their lovely 1915 Queen Anne home in NE Portland, once home of famous childrens book author, Beverly Cleary. The kitchen was sadly outdated, and Tim and Julia, who entertain almost nightly, wanted something both functional and beautiful. Tony built a high-end chef’s kitchen with custom cabinets and beautiful granite slab counters, brazilian cherry floors, including a 48″ Viking professional range and a Liebherr refrigerator. He also added a powder room in the back of the kitchen so they would have a bathroom on the main floor.

Tony (Hummingbird Homes) completed a total remodel for our kitchen with great skill and efficiency.  In just over six weeks, his physical work and project management took our kitchen down to the studs, made structural changes, updated plumbing and electrical, and then finish into a beautiful new space.  Today, it is still a stunning room.  Tony’s knowledge of old homes (ours built in 1913) was an added bonus.  Nothing surprised him and he was able to successfully work through any change with ease.  Always the professional, he offered suggestions for savings and efficiency, yet he never questioned our clear objectives.  His attention to details and the daily clean-up made the project a breeze. The six-weeks of work went by quickly and without stress. We were so fortunate to have Tony as our contractor/builder for that major renovation, and remains today our first choice for all projects.
